Shrek 3D
Here we again. More remastered 3D content. Dreamworks is currently working on converting the first three Shrek films from 2D to 3D. How exciting. It’s just what we wanted.
Mr. Jeffrey Katzenberg does point out a valid fact to Hollywood Reporter, however, in that the Shrek films were a digital creation to start with so the converstion should be quality. But maybe he didn’t see Clash of the Titans because while that was also a mainly a 2D digital creation later converted to 3D, it still sucked ass in 3D.
It’s all about the bottom line and even if Katzenberg’s suggestions that it could cost $20m per conversion, the studio might be able to recoup that cost with a solid relaunch. Money is money.

Alice's Adventure in Wonderland
Director Tim Burton’s latest film comes courtesy of author Lewis Carroll’s beloved novels 'Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland' and 'Through The Looking Glass'. For his adaptation of Alice In Wonderland, Burton has combined both the novels into a film that at first generates sparks of interest but soon fizzles out. The performances from the live action and voice casts range from brilliant to average, which is a shame as there are plenty of excellent actors in the film whose talents are under-utilised. The 3D effects do little to support the muddled story which seems to have lost its own plot. Perhaps Alice has been enlisted to retrieve the missing plot? The sketchy narrative appears and re-appears as often as the smiling Cheshire Cat, making Alice’s wanderings and encounters with anthropomorphic characters insignificant and a leisurely way to pass the time. These characters have so much potential to contribute and assist Alice, yet they are given little opportunity to shine.
